Telford 10K

Sunday 8th December 2019. Online Entries Closed. We will continue to take entries for those with Elite qualifying times (Wave 1 sub 31 men & Wave 2 sub 36 ladies) for some time yet. please contact us direct below.

We will allow transfers up to a month before the race, unless you have opted for the insurance below with transfers until end of November.
Please email us the new runners name, club, DOB, postal address, email and the date that you originally entered.

The entry fee includes a compensation scheme to cover both you and the organisers, if the event is cancelled due to bad weather, etc.
Should this happen, everyone will have the option of a full refund of the entry fee only, or transfer to a rearranged race to be held in January, date tbc.
Entrants also have the option of taking out a personal refund cover for an additional 6% of their entry fee.
If you need to withdraw before the event due to injury, illness, etc, then you can apply for a full refund of the entry fee only.
By not taking out this 6% extra cover you agree that you will not be entitled to a refund, deferral or transfer for any reason for the event.

There are NO entries on raceday. Racepacks are posted out by ActiveTrainingWorld to all online entrants in late November (except for Elite runners with qualifying times below).   

Wave 1. 10.30am. All Elite Men (28,29,30 min) and earlier online entries of Sub 40 minute Men (31 to 40 min) 
Wave 2. 11.10am. Further 31 to 40 min Men online entries, All Elite Ladies, and all online entry Ladies 36 to 40 min ish.
Wave 3. 11.50am. Masses over 40 minutes (Men & Ladies)  

Elite athletes with qualifying times below, please contact us for automatic entry to Wave 1 for Men, Wave 2 for Ladies. BOTH STILL OPEN
Sub 31 min for Men (or sub 14.40 for 5km), or sub 36 min for Ladies (or sub 17 for 5km), shown recorded on Power of 10 website within the last 2 years.

We are pleased to announce that due to their popularity last year, we will be using Pacers again in the Masses Wave, pacers every 5mins between 40 and 75mins.

2019 Open Prizes to the first 5 Men & first 5 Ladies in the Elite race only, based on Gun time. First place £200, Second £100Third £50Fourth £30Fifth £20, for both Male & Female. 
Masters: Prizes are, First man in each category M40, M45, M50, M55, M60, M65, M70. First Lady L40, L45, L50, L55, L60, L65, L70. 

The 2019 event will again be used as the Midlands qualifying event for selection for the England Athletics 2020 Age Group Masters 10k event.
We are pleased to announce that the Telford 10k Wave 1&2 will again host an Inter-Area Fixture in 2019. Each Area Team hosts a race as follows:
Northern Ireland - Belfast 10K March 31st 2019 
Wales - Cardiff 5K May 5th 2019 
Scotland - Stirling 10k Sept 8th 2019
Armed Forces - Peterborough Half Oct 13th 2019
North of England - Leeds Abbey Dash 10k Oct 26th 2019 
South of England tbc - Brighton 10k  Nov 
17th 2019
Midlands - Telford 10k Dec 8th 2019

General Information on Race entry.
It is the responsibility of the runner to be fit to compete on the day of the race. 
If you have any medical issues which you think may put you at risk when running a 10k race, then please see your GP prior to commencing a training programme. 
Runners who should seek medical advice from their doctor include those with an existing medical problems or any symptoms/signs. 
If you have flu or any other illness before the race it can take as long as a month to recover, so you should consider carefully whether or not you can run the race. 
As part of your structured training plan you should be able to comfortably run a 4 miles continuous training run, one month before the 10 km race.

This race has again been ranked as the Number 1 fastest 10k in the UK     Link to Fastest 10k Races
Course measurement. Course has been remeasured (April 19th 2018) by an official UKA measurer and there is no change from previous years.

Race HQ remains at the Telford International Centre, with FREE car parking right next to the start, lots of toilets and large indoor space to keep warm.
This is within a short walking distance of the Town Park, Ice Rink, Hotels, Premier Inn, New Travelodge, and Southwater cafes and restaurants.

NUMBERS AND CHIPS FOR ONLINE ENTRIES WILL ALL BE POSTED OUT LATER IN THE YEAR.
Online entry cost is still one of the lowest of any race with chip timing, £12 for UKA club runners, £14 unattached for others, with £1 booking fee.
CHIP TIMING. Disposable shoe lace chips with Mats at Start & Finish.
Please ensure your disposable timing chip is attached to your shoe laces. Please loop it around laces on one shoe, peel off the tab and stick each end together.

Good quality Medal to all finishers.
